When school lets out every afternoon, Neighborhood House transforms into a one-stop-shop for youth. With five unique programs dedicated to serving kids aged 6-18, every day offers extensive opportunities for youth to engage with the arts, experience STEM learning, or simply receive the support and mentorship of a caring adult.
Youthprise At-Risk Youth Nutrition Program
All program and community YOUTH, up to age 18, are invited to drop-in and have dinner with other Neighborhood House youth and staff. Monday – Friday, snack from 3-3:30pm and dinner 5-6pm.
The Celita Center
The Celita Center is where youth, ages 12-18, develop positive relationships with adults, find homework help, a positive social network, and support for whatever is happening in their lives. Using a drop-in model, the TRC is often a bridge between young people in the communities we serve and more formal, structured youth programs. Monday-Thursday 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Neighborhood House’s Wellstone Center location, room 137. For more information, contact Shanna Woods, 651-789-3623 or email.
Teen Outreach Program (TOP)
TOP, for youth ages 12-15, combines weekly peer group meetings, positive adult relationships, new experiences, and community service learning to increase healthy behaviors. Youth will explore volunteering projects, leadership opportunities, and new places on field trips, all in a fun and interactive group environment. Mondays 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. September – May. For more information, contact: Esteban Rodriguez-Hefty by email.
3D Core IT Program
Through a unique partnership with Minnesota Computers for Schools (MNCFS) students, ages 14-21, become proficient in basic computer skills, applications, and use of the Internet. Staff work to engage youth in leadership development, digital education, life skills management and community service. At the end of this year-long program, youth graduate with a CISCO certification. Youth must register by October, 2016. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. For more information, contact Shanna Woods at 651-789-3523 or email.

This unique program for youth in grades 6-9 incorporates mindfulness, personal training and health goal setting, nutrition, and sports. Youth are invited to join anytime. Wednesdays 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Neighborhood House’s Wellstone Center location. For more information, contact Esteban Rodriguez-Hefty by email.
