Youth Leadership

The Youth Leadership program helps young people develop the life skills, positive self-esteem and resilience needed to become engaged students, creative leaders and productive citizens. Homework Help, the Hmong Youth Group and Summer in the City are among the many popular activities. Spoken word, digital music, arts, cooking and craft classes are but a sample of the available classes.

Gang Reduction and Intervention Program (GRIP)

The program includes both group activities and one-on-one mentoring to help youth avoid or escape life in a gang. Tattoo removal is offered every week so that kids will no longer carry the symbols of the gang of which they were once a member, or aspired to be. The program works on restorative justice, where victims, offenders and community members meet to repair the harm done by crime. Click here for more information.

Testimonial

The values I learned at Neighborhood House helped me recover from an adolescence of crime. Neighborhood House recognized my potential before I saw it in myself.
